19 Nov 2024 / In the heat of the day, on a hundred-hectare farm in Namibia, a group of people are huddled together. They are observing a crop of large cabbages, arranged in neat rows. Nearby a mosquito net hangs from a tree, creating a protected area for seedlings to grow. The farmers here are gathering skills and knowledge on how to grow climate-resilient crops. They will take this knowledge back to their small-scale farms and communities, where they will plant the seeds of a sustainable future for generations to come.
GCF-EIF agreement opens way for start of Namibian nature-based climate solution
26 Aug 2019 / The Green Climate Fund has come a step closer to helping Namibia’s Environmental Investment Fund (EIF) utilise the resilience of ecosystems to help communities withstand climate change. GCF and EIF have signed a Funded Activity Agreement (FAA) which opens the way for the implementation of a project in Namibia which builds the resilience of communities living in landscapes threatened by climate change by using an ecosystems-based adaptation approach.
GCF and DBSA partnership to boost climate investments in the Southern Africa region
22 Aug 2019 / The Green Climate Fund (GCF) and the Development Bank of Southern Africa (DBSA) signed an agreement today which will kick-off the programme to break market barriers and accelerate investments into climate projects.
