The Board of the Green Climate Fund (GCF) requested the Secretariat to develop an environmental and social management system (ESMS) for GCF based on the outline for the GCF’s ESMS adopted in decision B.07/02, paragraph (n). In particular, the Board requested that the ESMS include guidelines on the categorization of projects by accredited entities according to the level of environmental and social risk and in accordance with the GCF interim environmental and social safeguards. The ESMS outline is contained in the annex of this call for public inputs.
