This readiness proposal will decisively prepare the Colombian government for the implementation of sustainable adaptation actions in the rural sector, as outlined in the NDC and the National Adaptation Plan (PNACC), through the mobilization of adaptation investments from the private sector, namely microfinance institutions. In that sense, Bancoldex wide network and long-term partnership with microfinance institutions is a solid foundation for the achievement of the expected outcomes of the readiness project. Through this process, the Colombian Government – and Bancóldex as delivery partner – will address important knowledge gaps and build capacities to plan, prioritize, finance and implement sustainable adaptation interventions for small rural producers, and to monitor and evaluate their effectiveness and impact.
