Therefore Pakistan’s request for support from the GCF’s readiness and preparatory programme in Readiness area 3 “Direct Access realized” is aimed in particular for

• Supporting potential national implementing entities for GCF accreditation
• Cooperating with the State Bank of Pakistan to raise awareness on the GCF among commercial banks, identify potential implementing entities among the commercial banks and support them in the first steps towards GCF accreditation and in addressing the specific challenges of the financial sector in Pakistan with regard to the access to international climate finance.
