GCF/B.35/Inf.19: Report on the outcomes of the IRM’s self-initiated proceedings into C-0002-Peru
This report provides a summary of the steps taken with regard to the Independent Redress Mechanism (IRM)’s case C-0002-Peru. In March 2019, the IRM launched a self-initiated inquiry (“suo-moto proceedings”) based on civil society reports highlighting concerns in relation to FP001. At the conclusion of the preliminary inquiry process, the IRM and the Secretariat agreed that the Secretariat would implement five time-bound remedial measures. Upon receipt of the final progress report in July 2022 and confirmation that AE’s actions are compliant with the guidance, the IRM decided not to initiate proceedings and to close the case. This report consists of an (i) introduction and background; (ii) GCF response to IRM preliminary inquiry; and (iii) developments subsequent to the IRM-Secretariat agreed actions.
