NDA Strengthening and Country Programming support for Azerbaijan through FAO
In general terms, the proposal will look for opportunities to leverage private sector participation into climate investments specifically in the agriculture and LULUCF sectors for the implementation of NDCs in Azerbaijan, following a gender balanced and participatory approach to all the proposed activities. However, the support for identification of Direct Access Entities will also consider private sector institutions from different sectors identified as priorities for the engagement with the GCF according to the Country Work Programme and the findings of the Gap analysis report on the “Private Sector Engagement to the adaptation and mitigation activities in the country”, delivered under Readiness 1.
The proposal will build on the priorities defined in the Country Work Programme under identification with the support of a first readiness grant implemented by UNDP, and expected to be finalized in the first half of 2019. This support will go one step further in conducting feasibility studies for technologies that can serve the priorities of the Country Programme.
