The implementation of climate change strategies depends on the availability of enough funding for building capacity of national institutions and for implementing climate change initiatives. Some efforts have been made to mainstream climate change into development plans at various levels but only limited progress has been achieved due to the funding challenge. However, with the VPO having additional responsibilities in its capacity as the NDA of the Green Climate Fund (GCF), further support is needed to build a strong framework for combating climate change challenges in Tanzania with GCF support.
