Notification on the Indigenous Peoples Advisory Group of the Green Climate Fund
Pursuant to paragraph 81 of the Indigenous Peoples Policy (decision B.19/11, Annex XI), the GCF will establish an indigenous peoples advisory group (the “IPAG”) to enhance coordination between GCF, accredited entities and executing entities, States and indigenous peoples in relation to matters concerning indigenous peoples. The Secretariat is pleased to provide the following notification on the composition of the IPAG:
Through an indigenous peoples-led self-selection process, the members of the Indigenous Peoples Advisory Group 2022-2024 are:
- Stanley Kimaren Riamit
- Tunga Bhadra Rai
- Juan Carlos Jintiach
The alternate members of the Indigenous Peoples Advisory Group 2022-2024 are:
- Balkisou Buba
- Helen Bianglen-Magata
- Viviana Figueroa
The fourth member and alternate member seats will be filled through further consultation to take place soon, to ensure that the nominations meet the criteria set out in the IPP. The first term of the IPAG will run from January 2022 – December 2024.
