The goal of the Readiness proposal is to contribute to an increased investment ni renewable energy from both private and public sectors across the participating African countries through enhanced legislative and policy frameworks, cross-regional dialogues and cooperations. As such the readiness proposal has the following overall objectives:

1. Develop capacity of the Members of Parliament and support parliamentary action and oversight
2. Develop parliamentary toolkits to create and/or strengthen national investment frameworks for generation and productive uses of renewable energy, identify pipeline of ideas for GCF investment and develop concept notes for submission to the GCF
3. Facilitate cross-border collaboration and sharing of experience among parliamentarians
