In the last years, Uruguay has increased its political commitment in relation to climate change agenda. At the institutional level, there is a deeper involvement of relevant stakeholders at the national and subnational level and early actions have been taken to face the impacts and to mitigate the causes of climate change. However, the country still faces some challenges that will be addressed by this Readiness Support: 

Strengthening of the Institutional framework and coordination arrangements for climate change planning and implementation. 

Incrementing the Involvement in climate action implementation at the subnational/provincial level. 

Improving the engagement of financial institutions in the climate change agenda.
