Support for Enhanced Accreditation of National Entities and Development of High-Quality Concept Notes (MEX-RS-002)
Support for Enhanced Accreditation of National Entities and Development of High-Quality Concept Notes (MEX-RS-002)
This proposal supports Mexico to achieve its conditional climate commitments (mitigation reductions: 36% GHG emissions, 70% black carbon), through improved access to climate finance and narrow the existing $126 billion USD climate finance gap. Specifically, this proposal privileges the development of concept notes in at least 2 key sectors: transport (sectoral NDC reduction goal of 18% or 45MtCO2e); and sustainable landscapes (124% or 61 tCO2e).
Such a goal can be achieved through an ambitious interdependence among the proposal’s components: capacity building (of the NDAs, GT-FIN, subnational governments, DAEs and EEs plus the social and private sectors); the development of strategic frameworks (namely, financial regulation for the CNBV, a national climate finance strategy and increased private sector investment in e-mobility); the strengthening of quality concept notes and the systematization of knowledge sharing (knowledge hub).
