There is a lack of a strategy framework that contemplates a stakeholder engagement plan, a climate financing strategy, a gender integration plan, and an assessment to identify specific areas where existing knowledge needs to improve to increase the ambition level of the NDC in the country’s prioritized sectors.  

This Readiness grant aims to address three key barriers: limited institutional capacity to coordinate the planning of the country’s climate change commitments among stakeholders; limited access to climate financing sources; and limited institutional capacity to evaluate sectors' needs to improve their NDC commitments' ambitions. 

This proposed Readiness grant aims to enhance strategic identification, implementation, and management of climate change mitigation measures and adaptation actions through the updated National Determined Contributions and Second Adaptation Communication.
