Introduction to Simplified Approval Process and the Private Sector

This virtual side event of the third annual GCF Private Investment for Climate Conference provides participants with an understanding on how countries, GCF accredited entities and partners proposing private sector investments to the GCF can benefit from the use of the GCF Simplified Approval Process (SAP) modality. Providing an interactive space where an overview of the SAP and GCF Private Sector Facility (PSF) is offered, the webinar will adopt a hands-on approach through the presentation of real cases of private sector SAP investments approved by the GCF Board: the case of an energy efficiency project in Mongolia, sponsored by the XacBank and an agrophotovoltaic intervention, proposed by the Fiji Development Bank in Fiji. Participants will be able to ask questions, share their views, comments and feedback with GCF experts, and, as recommended by the assessment of the SAP pilot scheme by the Independent Evaluation Unit (IEU), contribute to expanding the knowledge base of how SAP can more efficiently serve green private sector investments in the developing countries.
