GCF and Bancóldex meet to reinforce collaboration for climate action
The President of Bancóldex, Javier Díaz Fajardo, and the Green Climate Fund’s CFO, Hong Paterson, met in the margins of the Finance in Common Summit (FiCS) on 6 September and agreed on areas of joint collaboration to support climate action in Colombia and Latin America.
Both parties will work together to share knowledge and experience in climate financing, and to support Colombia in achieving its Nationally Determined Contributions (NDC). Bancóldex is a candidate for accreditation to the Green Climate Fund (GCF), and the two organisations discussed the accreditation process.
‘GCF is committed to supporting Colombia and other Latin American countries to deliver on their climate commitments,’ stated Hong Paterson. ‘We look forward to strengthening our cooperation with Bancóldex, particularly around exchanges of knowledge and experience concerning how to increase the flow of climate financing for adaptation and mitigation.’
‘Our collaboration with GCF signals Bancóldex's strong commitment to sustainable development and the battle against climate change in Colombia. The Bank has a broad experience in designing credit lines that have empowered over 10,000 companies to finance energy efficiency projects, renewable energy initiatives, climate adaptation measures in post-conflict regions, and bioeconomy projects.’ said Javier Díaz Fajardo.
