GCF and KfW join forces to help African coastal communities

GCF has signed an implementation agreement with German development bank KfW for GCF’s first “blue economy” project in the Western Indian Ocean targeting four African countries. This ecosystem-based adaptation project is financing the Blue Action Fund. The non-profit fund empowers local NGOs to help coastal communities use ocean resources sustainably in Tanzania, Madagascar, South Africa and Mozambique.
