The Green Climate Fund Board opened its 16th meeting today at GCF Headquarters in Songdo, Republic of Korea.
Over the coming three-days, the 24-member Board will focus on the consideration of nine new project proposals, with an estimated value of USD 855 million of GCF funding, as well as several programmatic and operational matters.
Highlights on the agenda include GCF’s proposal approval process; the process for the selection of the Permanent Trustee; GCF’s accreditation framework and policy; and updates on Readiness support and the Fund’s initial Strategic Plan.
The 16th meeting welcomes several new members to the Board, which is being co-chaired by Mr. Ayman Shasly of Saudi Arabia and Mr. Ewen McDonald of Australia.
More than 250 participants are taking part in meeting, including observers from civil society and private sector organizations, National Designated Authorities (NDAs), Accredited Entities, and GCF Delivery Partners.
