IIU, CABEI sign agreement to enhance cooperation
GCF's Independent Integrity Unit (IIU) is strengthening its collaborative efforts with the Integrity and Compliance Office (ICO) of the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI).
The Green Climate Fund's Independent Integrity Unit (IIU) is strengthening its collaborative efforts with the Integrity and Compliance Office (ICO) of the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI) through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for mutual cooperation in institutional integrity issues and investigative activities relating to Prohibited Practices.
The recently signed MoU complements the Accreditation Master Agreement (AMA) with CABEI, which contains a clause requiring the Accredited Entity to provide the IIU with reasonable assistance in carrying out its functions, and in promoting cooperation between IIU and ICO.
The cooperation agreement covers areas ranging from information sharing to detect and prevent fraud and corruption, practical modalities for joint investigations, privileges and immunities, and dispute resolution.
IIU is negotiating similar agreements with counterpart offices in other Accredited Entities, with the objective to establish agreements with all entities accredited to GCF by the middle of 2018.
