Join GCF at COP29

The Green Climate Fund (GCF) will be at COP29, which runs from 11 to 22 November in Baku, Azerbaijan.

As a main operating entity under the financial mechanism of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), GCF takes guidance from the Conference of Parties (COP) on its policies, programming priorities, and eligibility criteria.

The GCF delegation will be observing the official negotiations, and hosting and taking part in various events.

Visit us at the Climate Funds pavilion

GCF, the Adaptation Fund (AF), Climate Investment Funds (CIFs), and Global Environment Facility (GEF) will host a joint pavilion at COP, located in Zone E, D10, within the Blue Zone.

Check out the joint landing page to learn how GCF works and collaborates with other climate funds to promote complementarity and coherence in the climate finance landscape.

The pavilion will feature eight joint sessions on thematic topics such as nature-based solutions, industrial decarbonisation, gender equality in climate finance, and much more.  Each fund will present and have experts available to answer questions. The sessions will be livestreamed. For more information, visit  https://www.theclimatefunds.org.

Catch our official side events and more

GCF will be hosting two official side events:

  1. “Reform of the international financial architecture and the role of GCF” on 11 November from 18:30 to 20:00 (GMT+4) in Side Event Room 1, COP29 Blue Zone. 
  2. Joint side event: “The role of the Multilateral Climate Funds (MCFs) in the fight against climate change”

In addition, GCF will be hosting an event on the urgency and importance of climate communications:

“Shifting the climate narrative” on 13 November from 9:00 to 12:30 (GMT+4) in the Climate Funds Pavilion
