Corporación Nacional para el Desarrollo (CND) operates as a national direct access entity based in Uruguay. With a vision to be a national and international reference as a facilitator for the execution of development-oriented public policies, CND's mission is to provide services to ministries, municipalities, other public entities, as well as companies and the private sector. Their focus lies in achieving the country's development objectives, prioritizing the public interest and social responsibility.
CND's core services encompass supporting infrastructure development, enhancing the efficiency of public sector management, and providing fiduciary services for project financial structuring. In alignment with its mission, the entity manages sustainable development projects and funds.
Additionally, CND engages in various activities, including:
acting as a concessionaire for public infrastructure projects in public-use domains,
serving as an administrator and/or trustee for projects related to the development and maintenance of infrastructure,
identifying opportunities in public infrastructure and related services, preparing and promoting investment projects, providing consultancy services, and
offering fiduciary services and fund administration, as well as human resources or accounting and financial management administration
As Uruguay’s first GCF-accredited national direct access entity, CND aims to play a major role in the Country Programme, with a potential pipeline in multiple projects, including: a proposal on REDD+, a proposal on strengthening climate services, and a project on resilient coastal cities.
