In this Meet the iTAP we discussed the topic of “Water and Climate Change”. Growing demand for water increases competition for water resources, and may induce additional energy-intensive water pumping, transfers and treatment and contribute to the degradation of water sources and water-dependent carbon sinks. It is suggested that ‘nature-based solutions’ in land and water management, and efficiency-enhancing measures in irrigation and the water utility sector are critical. There is a lot that can be done to enhance water security. In this session we are joined by Marianne Kjellén, who has worked internationally for over thirty years with sustainable development, water resources management and water & sanitation services provision. Marianne has been member of iTAP panel since August 2023.
